A well

In order to supply water to the tanks above, the builders dug a 30.4 m deep vertical pit at the foot of the rocks. The height difference between the well and the level of the Tustan Dytynets is 24 m – so, obviously, an additional mechanism raised the water on the rock. This is confirmed by the hollowed-out pit at the top, which is actually a continuation of the well (about 6 m high).

Many unique artefacts were found in the well: fragments of wooden doors, pillars, pegs, shingles, a wooden mug, a shovel, leather fragments of shoes, wallets and a belt, ceramic tiles with a green glaze and a relief of George the Dragon Slayer.

The dendrochronological analysis of the wood from the well showed that all of it represents one stage of the reconstruction of the fortress in 1511.
