The local community built a new residence for the priest (plebania) next to the church in the early 1940s. The wooden building was constructed according to a typical design of the time (in neighbouring Pidhorodtsi, such a building still serves as the residence of the pastor). The building was originally covered with a ceramic roof and had a wooden porch at the entrance.

The building served as a priest’s home only for the first 20 years of its existence. After the church closed, the priest left the village, and school premises and a library were located in the plebania building.

    Музей Тустані

An obelisk to the victims of the Great Patriotic War was erected on the road next to the plebania in the 1960s. Later, in 2005, it was turned into a monument to the Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine on the occasion of the 440th anniversary of the village.

During the 1980s and early 1990s, the plebania housed a shop with a sewing workshop. After the construction of a new store in the village, the plebania began to be adapted into a museum.

The Tustan Museum has been located in the building since 1997, which has made it the most visited building in the village and its surroundings. Tens of thousands of tourists visit the exhibition every year. Great merit in the creation belongs to the first director of the museum Roman Semenovych Shchur and Tustan researcher Mykhaylo Fedorovych Rozhko. The exposition of the museum presents the history of research of the Tustan fortress, archaeological finds, models and graphic reconstructions of the fortress, a room with reconstructions of the 13th century interiors.
