    After the First World War, the peasants of Urych began to actively build public wells, because active oil production (in the 1930s, there were 97 operating mines around the village of Urych) polluted water in open streams. According to the memoirs of the Uricans, there were about ten public wells in different parts of the village in the 1920s and 1930s.
