The main walls of the fortress were the rocks themselves. The only accessible entrance to the territory of the fortress is a gap between the rock wall of Malyi Kamin and Male Krylo, where there was an entrance to Dytynets. Thanks to the vertical grooves and notches in the rocks, Tustan researcher Mykhailo Rozhko reconstructed the appearance of the gate (right) and the wicket (left) leading inside the bastion. It can now be seen in 3D projection and models of the fortress in the Tustan Museum.

The inner courtyard was entered through a drawbridge with a gate tower. Archaeologists discovered pillar pits from the wooden platform-ramp leading to the gate in front of Malyi Kamin. To the left of the gate was an artificially created gate - for the daily use of foot soldiers of the garrison. It was framed by wooden doors. The traces of cuts are still visible on the rocks in the narrow passage. Later, the gate was also reinforced with stone masonry.

-Основними стінами фортеці були самі скелі. Єдиним доступним входом на територію фортеці є розрив між скельною стіною Малого Каменю та Малим Крилом, де і був в'їзд на Дитинець. Завдяки вертикальним пазам та врубам у скелях дослідник Тустані Михайло Рожко реконструював вигляд брами (праворуч) та хвіртки (ліворуч), що вели всередину бастіону. Тепер його можна побачити у 3D-проєкції та моделях фортеці в Музеї Тустані.

-У внутрішнє подвір'я потрапляли через підйомний міст із надбрамною вежею. Археологи виявили перед Малим Каменем стовпові ями від дерев'яного помосту-пандуса, який вів до брами. Ліворуч від воріт була штучно створена хвіртка – для щоденного користування піших воїнів гарнізону. Вона була обрамлена дерев’яними одвірками, сліди врубів від них досі видимі на скелях у вузькому проході. Пізніше хвіртку також укріпили кам’яною кладкою.
